Denim Rag Quilt

This rag quilt has been in the making for a while.  My mom and I were in JoAnn's several months ago and saw a picture of a denim rag quilt that was so cute.  I've made rag quilts before but not using denim.  I already had some old jeans that Kyle and I hadn't worn in a while and some flannel fabric I bought when it was on sale maybe a year ago.  Perfect...cheap!

I had the squares cut and sewn for about 3 weeks sitting on our floor in the living room and I finally got to sewing them together this past weekend.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  Not the best sewing job I've done...I'm blaming pregnancy for my impatience.  Just don't look too close.  :)  I really like the flannel fabric back.  Maybe the nursery will be shades of pink with accents of green.  Still working through all my ideas.

Very cute!! Did you have to use a really thick needle? I break so many needles making rag quilts!

Luckily I didn't break any needles...I wouldn't even know what needle to buy if I did break it. I would have to find a sewing store here. And then look at my sewing machine manual to figure out how to put the new needle on. Haha...I'm very experienced. :)
