5 Months

Ramsey is now 5 months old!  Crazy!




This month has been pretty eventful for our little guy.  We moved from Alaska.  He started solids (which he loved until recently). Learned to roll front to back and back to front though he doesn't do front to back too often.  Started at a new daycare.  Two bottom teeth popped through.  He started pooping blood - small bottom fissure (maybe from all those solids).  And he was diagnosed with RSV and an ear infection on his 5 month birthday.  Whew, I hope things slow down a bit next month.


Things he likes:  talking/screaming, chewing on his fists, grabbing hair - especially Kallie's because she's in his face ALL THE TIME!, blowing bubbles, being held (he is starting to lay his head down on you and snuggle), his toes, sitting up, really grabbing stuff (like hair).





Man, since Ramsey got sick, he has only been eating about half of what he normally would.  Ramsey is weighing in at 13 lbs 12 oz and is 26 inches long.  He hasn't been our happy go lucky baby for the past week but hopefully he is on the up and up and will be devouring food again soon.

The Final Countdown

• It snowed so we built a snowman, then it melted

• It snowed some more, so we went sledding and had a snowball fight
• Kallie pounded on Ramsey's belly to make him laugh (she's so gentle)
• We spent lots and lots of time with friends

 

 

Get Air

Spending time with Kallie's bestie at a trampoline park.  They had a blast!  She also hung out for the day with her.  We are sure going to miss that family.

He does not like his car seat so I was trying to keep him occupied with my phone.  He likes to look at himself and got all handsy and took a selfie! :)

Trip Back South

We're moving!  Heading back to warmer weather as the weather here gets freezing!  Here is a picture dump of our training / house hunting trip.

 
The kids spent time with grandparents, we spent time in a hotel, visited College Station so Kallie could see the Aggie Band (and get Bucee's), ate Jason's Deli and Chick-fil-a (what, what!!) and visited with friends.  All and all a successful trip - found a house, sold our house but pretty crazy with a 3 month old (who isn't the best sleeper).  We're excited to be closer to family and friends!

4 Months

So, 4 months has flown by.  Ramsey is growing well but still on the small side of the scale.  He weighed 13 lb. 6 oz. (9%) and was 25 inches long (36%).  Comparatively, Kallie was 13 lb. 14 oz. and 24.2 inches long at 4 months (so about the same).  Ramsey is so smiley and such a happy baby.  I'm so grateful as he's still not the best sleeper.  Naps are a struggle sometimes and at night he wakes up every few hours but plop the pacifier in and he's back to sleep no problem, going about 6 hours between feedings.  He found his feet this month and is starting to rock side to side like he might try to roll over.  His fists are constantly in his mouth, and he drools everywhere.  Doctor said he is looking great!  We're looking forward to starting food! 

3 Months Young

Ramsey is now 3 months old (at the time I wrote this - we're pushing close to 4 months now).  Weighs 12 lb. and 24 inches long.  He has found his hands, can hold a few things in his hand, smiles all the time, even strangers can get him to smile, and talks a lot!  His giggling has increased tenfold throughout the month and you can now act silly and he'll laugh as opposed to tickling him.  He started daycare this month and is doing great.  He's a baby that loves to check out what is going on and doesn't nap great.  So, he loves all the excitement and is exhausted when he gets home.  He experienced his first plane ride (but missed his first snow).  Kallie is still over the moon as we all are.  We love him so!

Botanical Gardens and the Zoo

We've been trying to get out with both kids to enjoy the beautiful weather.  First stop was the zoo with just me and the kids.

 

Next we went to the Botanical Gardens.  Very pretty and nice little walk.

Neighbor went out looking for gold and dragged the kids along to splash in the water.  They had a blast!

Parks

Throughout the summer, we have been to the park a lot.  Since there are a ton of parks around, we have been trying out new ones instead of going to our staple park at the elementary school near our house.  This one was an awesome updated park and Kallie made a little friend to play with too.  We sure enjoyed (and miss) that warm sunny weather.

With a newborn, it can be hard to appreciate what a sweet, pretty 3 year old we have.  Love that girl!

Experiments

Spent time with Kallie doing creative things.  First we made snowflakes, then we watched how a rain cloud works with shaving cream and colored water, and then we painted with colored water onto a paper towel to watch it spread.  She loved every bit of that one hour. :)

State Fair

We made it to the state fair again this year.  I got to see the big vegetables this year!  The pumpkin weighing was the night we went, so didn't get to see it - though the strap broke, and the pumpkin busted everywhere - so nobody got to see it.

Kallie's focus was food, animals and rides.  She was able to go on some bigger fair rides (with an adult - we got to have fun too).  Ramsey slept the whole time!

1 Month Already

Ramsey is a month old (now a month and a half!).  He was such a sleepy baby the first couple weeks and now is a bit more demanding.  I got a couple of half smiles and coos from him which is adorable.  I love to hear his cute little voice.  He likes car rides, walks, and being held pretty much all the time.  He will even tolerate Kallie hanging and hugging on him.  I've been wearing him a lot more around the house than I ever did with Kallie.  He sure is sweet when he cuddles and sleeps on you.

Company Picnic

A week after Ramsey was born, Kallie and I headed to our company's picnic.  It rained but we still made the most of it (meaning we got our face painted and ate some good food).  Not as fun as last year but it was nice to get out of the house and spend some one on one time with Kallie.

While we were at the hospital, Kallie got to stay with her best buddy for 2 nights.  She had a blast!  She had so much fun that when Kyle came to check on her she didn't want to tell him bye because she thought he was going to take her back home!  Thanks to our wonderful neighbors!
