Flattop Hike

One beautiful afternoon, we headed to Flattop trail to try out our backpack for Kallie.  What we thought was going to be a leisurely hike turned into a rather tough, somewhat treacherous with the snow still on the trail, and a bit slippery with the snow melting.  And there were a bunch of stairs.

I felt for poor Kyle carrying an extra 30 pounds on his back.  We didn't make it to the very top but got most of the way there.  While we rested at a little stopping point, Kallie ate my apple and Kyle's pistachios.  We also taught her to suck water out of our little backpack. Every 2 minutes we heard "I need some more water."

Just before we left to go home, I changed her diaper.  We gave her the water to drink on the way home.  When we got home her diaper was soaked through.  And she proceeded to soak another diaper in just an hour.  I think she drank more water than Kyle and I both.  We had such a good time hiking and look forward to going up all the way next time.
