Fun at Fur Rondy

Our first experience with the Fur Rondy Festival was fun.  We caught the beginning of a fur auction.  Kyle "needs" a wolf fur now.  The middle picture is of the Texas polar bear fur.  I don't remember what kind of animal it was and tried to Google with no luck.  Funny.  What we hear is that Alaskans have a thing against Texans.  "Everything is bigger in Texas" but Alaska is twice the size.  Something along those lines.  Anyway, people had fur everywhere, even a whole wolf on their head.

We checked out the carnival.  Kallie was too small to ride the Ferris Wheel.  No kiddie park here.  We also warmed up in the train depot.  My favorite was the snow sculptures.  The teams still had one more full day to work on them so some are only partly done but it was fun to see what they created.

We did see a few sled dogs as well but missed getting pictures of them.  We all enjoyed the fun.
