Halloween Festivities

The weekend before Halloween, I had a party for Kallie's neighborhood friends (and adults...let's be honest) so they could dress up without being freezing.  I had fun activities - that we really didn't get to - and lots of deliciously sweet and bad for you food.  Surprisingly all the kids went to bed fairly easy that night.  Who said sugar makes the kids crazy?

I made a felt monster activity board that was a big hit.  I had these foam sticker things of owls, bats and jack o' lanterns that were fun, too.  Kallie and I are still making the others in the bunch.  I had coloring pages and a fun spider web made out of masking tape that the kids could walk on.  They were too busy with all the other stuff (and sweets) to bother.  Still, we had a great time.  Kallie lasted about 10 minutes in her costume though.

That next week we had a family work Halloween party at the museum.  Currently there is a LEGO exhibit which Kallie loved (think hands-on LEGOs for the kids to play with - we had to drag her away).  We also got to play in the hands-on imaginarium section which Kyle loved.  Of course there was food, photo booths and other fun stuff.

For Halloween we ended up just passing out candy and then hanging with our neighbors as they passed out candy.  Our neighborhood was crazy crowded.  Glad to say we don't have any candy leftovers.
